Lower Mill Estate is an award winning community of luxury sustainable homes set in a private, fully managed, 550-acre nature reserve in the heart of the Cotswolds. Targeting families, we defined the brand proposition as ‘Own your piece of natural England’ and commissioned a series of illustrations to capture the magic, spirit and experience of living amidst the abundant wildlife throughout the seasons. The illustrations formed the centrepiece of an awareness campaign, launched with full page adverts in the Sunday Times, Telegraph and Observer, along with animated digital versions.

Building on the brand’s quintessential ‘Englishness’ through design and copy, the Lower Mill book was designed to communicate how owning a piece of natural England translates on both functional and emotional levels. The main narrative describes the ethos, environment and facilities of the estate. This is punctuated by a series of illustrated story-telling tip-in pages that capture the experience of living within the magical nature reserve, including tales of wildlife encounters, foraging adventures and wild camping. Colloquial phrases within the copy accentuate the English charm.
